Firefighters respond to fire off of Highway 50 near Warrensburg

JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Firefighters responded to a large fire at a business off of Highway 50 west of Warrensburg on Friday morning.

According to the Johnson County Fire Protection District, crews are working with the Warrensburg Fire Department to put out the blaze at Wildscapes, LLC in the 100 block of NW 121 Road.

Firefighters asked drivers to avoid the area after the fire spread from the building to the grass along Highway 50. According to JCFPD, tankers were used to bring in water from Warrensburg to fight the fire.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal and the Johnson County Fire Investigation Unit are investigating how the fire started.
