Dog rescued after fire at east Columbia home

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Firefighters rescued a dog from a burning home in east Columbia on Wednesday night.

Crews responded to the home in the 4400 block of Oriole Lane around 7:45 p.m., according to the Columbia Fire Department.

Firefighters said one person was inside of the home at the time of the fire but was able to get out safely.

ABC 17 news crews on the scene saw at least 10 fire trucks and one ambulance responded to the house fire. 

Officials haven't released what started the fire.
