COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia firefighters say no one was hurt in a house fire on Pendleton Street on Sunday.

A release from the Columbia Fire Department said firefighters were called to the residence at 5:50 p.m. It said firefighters responded four minutes later and saw smoke coming from the roof of the house.

The fire department said targeted demolition allowed crews to get to the attic. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.

The Red Cross was called in to assist the residents, according to the release.

As of Friday morning, it's unclear what started the fire.
