Boone County firefighters said a Tuesday afternoon residential structure fire north of Columbia ended with no injuries.

The fire in the 6000 block of N. Vickie Drive was called out at 11:53 a.m., online dispatch records said.

The Boone County Fire Protection District tweeted at 12:25 p.m. that smoke was coming out of all sides of the house.

Fire chief Scott Olsen said no one was home when crews arrived and that no people were hurt.

The fire chief added most of the damage was contained to the kitchen but that damage was reported on the ceiling and attic.

As of Tuesday afternoon, it's unclear what caused the fire.
