COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Dori D. Burke with the Boone/Callaway County Medical Examiner's Office said the office expects to know whether or not the remains belong to missing woman Mengqi Ji by Friday.

The remains were originally found at Rock Bridge State Park March 25, along with personal property such as bank statements and identification belonging to Ji.

The examiner's office said an odontologist arrived on Monday and an anthropologist arrived Thursday to assist in identifying the remains.

The forensic odontologist uses dental records to identify the teeth of the remains.

The anthropologist planned to examined the bones for signs of injury, compared to any potential animal activity, to see if a cause of death can be determined.
