Three injured after acid spill at the small animal research facility on the Lincoln University campus

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

On Thursday afternoon, the Jefferson City Fire Department responded to a reported acid spill at the small animal research facility at Lincoln University.

Officials say the facility was being evacuated when firefighters first arrived on the scene just before 5 p.m.

Officials say three adults were taken to the hospital for inhalation injuries and surface burns.

According to a press release, there was minor damage to the facility and it remains closed at this time.
