Multiple districts cancel classes Thursday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Over a dozen Mid-Missouri school districts canceled Thursday classes as temperatures continue to fall across the region.

Eldon, Jamestown, Morgan County R-II (Versailles) and St. Elizabeth R-IV were among the public districts that had called off Thursday classes by 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Many of the districts on social media say road conditions, precipitation and single-digit temperatures are the reason why they called off school.

Tomorrow, more flurries are possible with highs in the upper teens to around 20.

The Missouri Department of Transportation's traveler information map showed several state highways in Mid-Missouri were partially covered or mostly clear.
