Jefferson City School District names two new elementary principals

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City School District announced in a Thursday press release that it has hired principals for two of its elementary schools.

Both hires begin next school year.

James Groves – who is currently the assistant principal at Pioneer Trail Elementary in Jefferson City -- will be the new principal for South Elementary, according to the release. He is replacing Teri Tillinghast, who will be a teacher at Lawson Elementary.

Jesse Oswald – who is currently an assistant principal at another Jefferson City school, Thomas Jefferson Middle School -- will be the new principal at East Elementary, replacing Ryan Day, who will become the executive director of elementary education for Columbia Public Schools.
