JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City School District announced in a Wednesday press release that it received donation of more than $300,000 in STEM items.

Elenco Electronics donated the STEM -- science, technology, engineering and mathematics-- products, which include do-it-yourself activity kits, project kits designed to teach about circuits and coding, and more. The items will be put to use in elementary and secondary classrooms, the release states.

“This substantial donation of very cool STEM items is such an incredible blessing for the district. To see our students’ eyes light up as they receive the kits and projects has been truly touching,” Jefferson City School District Superintendent Bryan McGraw said in the release. “The network of JC Schools alumni is far-reaching, and to have Jefferson City native and JCHS alumni Bill Broyles give back to his community in this way is such a gift. I am thankful to Board of Education member Brad Bates for making this connection possible to the benefit of JC Schools students.”

Elenco Electronics is a company based in Wheeling, Illinois.
