JC Schools to hold public meeting Thursday about boundary proposals

KMIZ VEDIT

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

JC Schools plans to hold a public meeting this week about three boundary proposals.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dix Road Technology Center. School district leaders plan to share information about the boundary proposals at Thursday's meeting.

JC Schools shared the boundary proposals on its boundary line project website last month.

According to an email sent to families on Friday, the proposals are expected to be presented to the JC Schools Board of Education at a meeting scheduled for Jan. 24.

School board members are expected to consider several factors when selecting a proposal:

  • Minimizing disruption of student's established learning programs
  • Keeping siblings in the same elementary, middle or high schools whenever possible
  • Providing an overall balance of student enrollment relative to facility size
  • Keeping neighborhoods in the same attendance area, whenever possible

The school board is expected to make a final decision about the boundary proposals in February.
