The vaccine against COVID-19 will be offered in Columbia Public Schools (CPS) for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services announced the vaccination clinics are scheduled for this fall and winter.

Families of students are expected to be notified when a clinic is planned at their school. Children will need a permission form signed by a parent or guardian to get vaccinated.

According to CPS, the vaccine clinics will start next week for some schools. Most of the clinics will last for about two hours.

You can find the list of the CPS vaccine clinics here.

The clinics scheduled for next week are as follows:

  • Monday, Nov. 15: Mill Creek Elementary School and Cedar Ridge Elementary School.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 16: Roseta and CORE
  • Wednesday, Nov. 17: Paxton Keely Elementary School and Russell Boulevard Elementary School
  • Thursday, Nov. 18: Ridgeway Elementary School and Grant Elementary School
  • Friday, Nov. 19: Rock Bridge Elementary School and Shepard Boulevard Elementary School.

Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services said children are encouraged to get the vaccine, but it's not mandatory.

  1. A vaccine with the worst adverse event record of any vaccine ever allowed to remain available, against a virus that is less likely to kill your child than a lightening strike? What happened to “follow the science”? Not enough Pharma profit in it?

    1. This is just a big fat lie. These vaccines are all incredibly safe and effective by ANY OBJECTIVE measure. Alice just spews lies and misinformation because she hasn’t taken her meds. Alice PLEASE cite any data supporting the garbage that you spew. There are huge volumes of very robust data showing not only are the vaccines safe and effective against COVID 19 infection, patients who were vaccinated were less likely to die from NON-COVID 19 related causes as well. Alice just belongs in a right wing cult of misinformation.

      1. Any previous vaccine with a VAERS record even half as bad as this one was pulled from the market. There has been no long term testing, so we have no idea how even less safe they may prove to be. Deaths among children from the virus are statistically insignificant. Their deaths from the vaccine exceed them. Insults are the refuge of those with no argument.
