The vaccine against COVID-19 will be offered in Columbia Public Schools (CPS) for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services announced the vaccination clinics are scheduled for this fall and winter.

Families of students are expected to be notified when a clinic is planned at their school. Children will need a permission form signed by a parent or guardian to get vaccinated.

According to CPS, the vaccine clinics will start next week for some schools. Most of the clinics will last for about two hours.

You can find the list of the CPS vaccine clinics here.

The clinics scheduled for next week are as follows:

  • Monday, Nov. 15: Mill Creek Elementary School and Cedar Ridge Elementary School.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 16: Roseta and CORE
  • Wednesday, Nov. 17: Paxton Keely Elementary School and Russell Boulevard Elementary School
  • Thursday, Nov. 18: Ridgeway Elementary School and Grant Elementary School
  • Friday, Nov. 19: Rock Bridge Elementary School and Shepard Boulevard Elementary School.

Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services said children are encouraged to get the vaccine, but it's not mandatory.
