QUESTION OF THE DAY: Should students have access to phones while in school?

Columbia Public Schools earlier this month sent an email to families asking for help in keeping kids off their cellphones.

The message from the superintendent asked that families talk with their children about when it's appropriate to use the devices. Cellphones have created challenges for educators even while some parents insist their children have the devices in case of emergencies.

Do you think students should have access to their phones during school hours? Vote in the poll.
