Columbia man charged after allegedly robbing multiple stores over the past three months
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Boone County prosecutor has charged a Columbia man after he allegedly robbed multiple stores over the past three months and took $2,535 from the stores.
Kenneth Sipho Jr. is charged with five counts of first-degree robbery, five counts of armed criminal action and five counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
According to court documents, Sipho is accused of robbing the Arena Liquors on Scott Blvd. on Oct. 4 and taking $227 from the store. On Oct. 4, Sipho is accused of robbing the Arena Liquor on Corporate Lake Dr. Sipho then allegedly robbed the Phillips 66Â on Nifong Blvd. on Oct. 10 of $120. On Nov. 24, Sipho allegedly robbed the Arena Liquor on Corporate Lake Dr. of $764. On Dec. 11, Sipho is accused of robbing the Arena Liquor store on Providence Rd. of $678.
According to investigators, security footage shows the same suspect at each store carrying a small black pistol. Investigators say Sipho’s vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, can be seen in footage of three of the five robberies.
Investigators found pictures of Sipho and his vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle and description.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Sipho’s arrest and he will be given no bond because he is considered a danger to the community.
