Columbia man arrested after allegedly stealing items from Fearfest

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An investigation by Boone County Sheriff's department leads to an arrest of a man accused of stealing from Fearfest.

According to court documents, Fearfest owner William Schnell reported several items had been stolen from storage buildings on his property on Wednesday.

On Thursday afternoon, Boone County sheriff's deputies stopped Chad Strauss. During a traffic stop, deputies reported finding items that matched the description of the stolen items from Fearfest.

Detectives later interviewed Strauss. According to the probable cause statement, Strauss told investigators that "he was asked by someone named Austin to pick the property up at Fearfest."

Strauss is charged with stealing - $750 ore more. He has a bond set at $5,000 cash or surety.
