California man accused of Wednesday gas station robbery
CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A California man faces multiple felonies after being accused of a Wednesday gas station robbery.
Nicholas Rodriguez faces a count each of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to online court records.
California police allege Rodriguez entered a Casey's General Store, gave a worker a note and displayed a firearm.
Police say the employee complied and Rodriguez left.
A social media post from the California Police Department does not say what Rodriguez left with or what was written in the note.
According to a Moniteau County probable cause statement, Rodriguez waited a long time at the store letting people leave and then approaching the register and asking for a pen and paper. According to the victim, Rodriguez wrote on the paper "Need All Cash in Register." Then the suspect lifted his shirt, exposing the gun and telling the victim "that his lift was not worth it."
Rodriguez was later arrested and booked into the Moniteau County Jail on a $100,000 bond, officers said.
According to the PC statement, Rodriguez had a bait bill that triggered the silent alarm at Casey's General store in his possession.
