A Columbia is facing multiple charges connected to an investigation into drug dealing.

A Boone County prosecutor has charged Rashad Fonville with the delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to a probable cause statement, Columbia police began investigating Fonville in March 2022 for dealing meth and cocaine.

An informant told police that Fonville was a high-level dealer and helped set up buys from him at his residence on the 700 block of Demaret Drive, according to court documents.

On April 21, Columbia police served a search warrant at that residence and found a gun and cocaine hidden inside a hollowed-out Barbasol shaving cream can.

Fonville's initial court appearance is scheduled for May 17 according to online court records. A defense attorney is not listed for Fonville.

According to online court records, Fonville posted bond on April 22.
