COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Centralia man is facing multiple charges after police investigated storage unit break-ins in Columbia.
Danny Hutcheson is charged with possession of a controlled substance, two counts of resisting arrest and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Thursday, Columbia police responded to a report of storage unit break-ins on the 300 block of Nebraska Ave. when officers found a vehicle parked in the real of the storage units.
According to court documents, police say Hutcheson tried to leave the area in the vehicle but couldn't and then he took items from the vehicle and walked off toward Providence Road.
The officer reportedly called for back-up and another officer found Hutcheson and took him into custody after a short foot chase. Hutcheson allegedly dropped items on the ground before being arrested, according to court documents.
Police report finding a clear bag and pipe that tested positive for meth as the items Hutcheson allegedly dropped.
Hutcheson is currently at the Boone County Jail being held on a $15,000 bond.
Hutcheson is scheduled for a docket hearing on Tuesday and a preliminary hearing on April 6. He didn't have a lawyer listed in online court records.
