BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boone County prosecutor has charged a Tampa, Florida man for drug possession after a traffic stop on Interstate 70 in Boone County.

Kerrick Moore is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper pulled over Moore last Thursday for driving a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek too closely near the 126-mile marker on I-70.

The trooper reported seeing multiple black trash bags in the vehicle and asked Moore to search the vehicle but Moore refused.

According to court documents, a drug dog arrived on the scene and detected the odor of a drug in the vehicle.

Troopers reportedly seized 149 pounds of marijuana.

Moore has an initial arraignment set for Feb. 9.
