Jefferson City man arrested in Cooper County after traffic stop leads to drug seizure
COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man faces multiple charges Tuesday after a violation on Interstate 70 in Cooper County leads to a drug and money seizure and the recovery of a stolen gun.
According to a tweet by Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F, William James was pulled over in a2015 Dodge Challenger at 12:38 for a registration violation on eastbound I-70, at the 93-mile marker, in Cooper County.
During a search of the vehicle, troopers seized three pounds of marijuana, $16,258 in cash and recovered a stolen handgun.
James was arrested for drug possession, receiving stolen property, unlawful use of a weapon, driving while suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia.
James was taken to the Cooper County Jail.
