CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Moniteau County Sheriff's deputy pulled over a vehicle Saturday for no tail lights.

According to a Moniteau County Sheriff's department, the driver, who is currently on parole for possession of a controlled substance, consented to a search of the vehicle.

According to deputies, they found a loaded .45 cal handgun, marijuana, THC wax and drug paraphernalia. According to officicals, deputies searched a backpack that was carried by a juvenile in the vehicle and found a substantial amount of meth, packaging materials and marijuana.

Officials took 34-year-old Tyreel G. Hardy and 30-year-old Sarah D. McAteer were taken into custody and a juvenile was detained. All three were taken to the Moniteau County Jail.

According to deputies, that during post Miranda interview Hardy admitted to knowing of the firearm in the vehicle and admitted that he had given the meth to the juvenile to conceal from law enforcement.

Tyreel G. Hardy is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a concealable firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Sarah D. McAteer is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Hardy and McAteer both have a $50,000 cash or surety bond.

Both have Moniteau County Court hearings on Tuesday.
