Missouri Attorney General files lawsuit against Boone County fencing contractor for unlawful business practices

MGN

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Attorney General's office has filed a lawsuit against Joseph Murray for unlawful business practices. Murray does business as “Affordable Fence;” a fictitious name according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit alleges that Murray took advance payments of over $18,000 in 2020 from at least four Missouri residents for fencing and fence installation that never occurred.

The lawsuit seeks to get all of the victims' money back.

“My Office’s Consumer Protection Section works diligently to protect consumers and root out fraud and scams, and this lawsuit is yet another result of their dedicated, tireless work,” said Attorney General Eric Schmitt in a release.
