Man convicted in Ben Renick murder case files appeal

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man that was convicted of the murder of Ben Renick has filed an appeal.

Michael Humphrey was found guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the 2017 killing of Ben Renick.

In court filings, Humphrey says he has filed an affidavit of indigence saying with the state public defender's office so he can get representation by a public defender.

Humphrey says he has meritorious issues on appeal that should be reviewed by the Court of Appeals.
