JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Cole County prosecutor is reporting a Jefferson City man was found guilty after he was pulled over in a stolen vehicle in June 2021.

An officer spotted the vehicle at a gas station that was reported stolen out of Saline County.

Prosecutor Locke Thompson says that Justin Atterberry was found guilty of the class D felony of tampering with a motor vehicle and the class A misdemeanor of driving while revoked.

Atterberry was sentenced to 10 days in the county jail for the misdemeanor. He plead to a 7-year sentence on the felony, which was suspended, and he was placed on 5 years of supervised probation.

Should he violate the terms of his probation and be sent to prison, the sentence will be the 7 years to which he already plead.
