Boone County Jail

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The second suspect involved in a 2019 Columbia pawn shop burglary has been sentenced to prison.

21-year-old Alexander Mears was sentenced Wednesday morning to three years in prison.

Mears and 26-year-old Tyler Hilderman stole more than 60 firearms from Tiger Pawn in Columbia.

According to Mears’s plea agreement, the duo made a hole in the building’s wall in order to enter the pawnshop and steal the guns. Mears then handed the guns through the hole to Hilderman outside the building.

Hilderman was also sentenced to three years Tuesday.
