Court hearing scheduled for man accused in fatal Jefferson City shooting

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A court hearing is scheduled later this year for a man accused in a deadly Jefferson City shooting.

JaHuan Whirley could appear at the hearing in Cole County at 1 p.m. on June first.

Whirley is charged with first-degree murder and other crimes in the shooting death of 33-year-old Justin Kammerich back in December 2018.

A 20-year-old survived the shooting.

A judge denied a motion on Monday to drop the murder charge from first-degree to second-degree murder.
