COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia police officer accused of killing a 4-year-old child in 2019 pleaded not guilty to a count of involuntary manslaughter Monday morning.

According to online court records, Andria Heese made the plea during a court hearing at 10:30 a.m.

The same records said Heese waived her formal arraignment. The next hearing in the case is scheduled to be held on Aug. 17 at the Boone County Courthouse.
