JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Wright City man was sentenced on Monday to eight years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to stealing firearms from a Williamsburg business.
A release from the office of the U.S. attorney in Jefferson City said 25-year-old Jack Wodke isn't eligible for parole.
The release says Wodke admitted to stealing from Crane's Country Store on Route D on Dec. 19, 2017. Wodke admitted in June to stealing 25 guns and other items when he broke into Crane's, according to the release.
The next day pointed a gun at an employee at a Missouri Department of Transportation building while driving a stolen truck, the U.S. attorney's office said.
Multiple law enforcement agencies including state troopers were called to the building and Wodke drove away and led authorities on a chase, according to the release.
The release said a trooper was involved in a single-vehicle crash and was trapped inside their vehicle for two hours. The trooper was later taken to the hospital.
Authorities kept pursuing Wodke into a nearby bean field and was arrested after a Callaway County deputy crashed in his truck, authorities say.
Deputies found several guns that had been stolen from the country store, according to the U.S. attorney's office. Authorities say they also seized multiple items in Wodke's truck that had been reported stolen from a Montgomery County gas station.
