FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Fulton man was sentenced to 17 years in prison on Tuesday for child sex crimes committed in 2018.

Christopher Feltner, 41, was sentenced on a charge of statutory sodomy with a child under the age of 12.

Online court records show Feltner's attorney filed to have a new trial in the case. Callaway County Circuit Judge J. Hasbrouck Jacobs ruled there was no probable cause and threw out Feltner's motion.

Feltner was arrested in November of 2018 linked to an "extensive criminal investigation" into child sex crimes. Callaway County sheriff's deputies and officers with the State of Missouri Children's Division conducted the investigation.

Court documents show Feltner will not be eligible for parole until at least 85% of his sentence has been served.
