Woman faces multiple charges after 3-year-old found walking on Providence
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia woman is charged with child abuse after a 3-year-old is found walking on north Providence Road on Sunday morning with a dog.
A Boone County prosecutor has charged Aliciana Hill with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, abuse or neglect of a child and possession of a controlled substance.
On Sunday morning, Columbia police responded to a report of a three-year-old child walking alone with his dog on near North Providence Road and Amazon Drive.
According to a Facebook post by the Columbia police, the child identified his first name but that was all.
The child was not wearing weather-appropriate clothing and kept telling police he was cold, according to court documents.
Police report the child was in their custody for three and half hours before Hill called dispatch about her missing child.
Police reported going to Hill’s residence on the 100 block of Antelope Drive where they got consent to do a walk of the residence. According to court documents Hill was trying to hide drug paraphernalia. Police reported finding over 500 needles, meth and 45 used needles that contained blood and meth, court documents state.
Hill told police during a post-Miranda interview that she took a Benadryl to help her sleep and she was asleep when the child left the residence.
Hill is currently in the Boone County Jail being held without bond.
According to online court records, Hill does not have a lawyer.
