JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Cole County prosecutor has charged a Hartsburg woman with several crimes after a chase began in Cole County and ended in southern Boone County.

Erin Starke is charged with resisting arrest, fourth-degree assault, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and operating a vehicle in a careless manner.

Jefferson City police attempted to stop Starke at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for a felony warrant.

Starke sped off in a 2013 For Fusion and drove through Callaway County into Boone County reaching speeds in excess of 110 mph before police were able to get the Fusion's tires deflated, according to court documents.

Documents state Starke then ran off before being taken into custody.

Officials say Starke was taken to Captial Region Medical Center for treatment where she allegedly attempted to bite a nurse before spitting into the nurse's face.

Starke is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond.

A bond hearing review is scheduled for Monday.
