Stolen vehicle chase leads to crash and arrest
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
One person is arrested after a stolen vehicle chase ends after a wreck at the Benedict and Mexico Gravel Road roundabout.
Officials report that a silver Toyota 4 Runner was stolen from the 5600 block of Clark Lane Monday morning and just before 5 pm.. the vehicle was reported on Wellington Dr.
A traffic stop was initiated by a deputy in the area before a chase ensued.
A second deputy set up at the Benedict and Mexico Gravel Road roundabout, where he deployed spikes. The driver of the Toyota swerved to miss the spikes, lost control and overturned.
The Toyota was confirmed to be the same vehicle reported as stolen from Clark Lane earlier this morning.
The driver, Justin Lee Hart, 34, of Charleston, Missouri, was arrested and complained of injury and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
