Second person charged in Columbia armed robbery

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A woman who is accused of demanding money from a victim during an armed robbery on Monday has been arrested and charged.

Wayneshia Woods, 34, of Columbia, was charged on Wednesday in Boone County with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of armed criminal action, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree drug trafficking and drug possession.

She was booked into the Boone County Jail on Tuesday night and is being held without bond. A court date has not been scheduled.

She’s accused along with Royce Kemp in the robbery. Kemp was charged on Tuesday with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree assault and first-degree kidnapping. He is not listed on a jail roster and a no-bond warrant was ordered.

The probable cause statement claims Kemp went to the victim’s residence, was let in by the victim and then left. He then allegedly returned with Woods minutes later and Woods asked the victim change for $50, the statement says.

Kemp allegedly then hit the victim in the back of their head with a gun and took roughly $1,800, the statement says. He then allegedly pointed the barrel to the back of the victim’s head while they were on the ground, the statement says.

A second probable cause statement says police served a search warrant at Woods’ residence on Tuesday afternoon and allegedly found fentanyl, cocaine and a gun. Woods allegedly arrived at the residence while police were searching it, the statement says.
