Moberly man accused of stabbing woman in her chest

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Moberly man has been charged with a pair of felonies after he allegedly stabbed a woman in her chest on Friday.
Christopher Viley, 49, was charged in Randolph County with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action. He is being held at the Randolph County Jail without bond. An arraignment was held on Monday afternoon.
According to the probable cause statement, police were called to Moberly Regional Medical Clinic’s emergency room after a woman arrived with a stab wound to her chest and a collapsed lung. She was eventually brought to University Hospital in Columbia.
The victim told law enforcement that they were stabbed by Viley with a cane or walking stick at a Moberly residence, the statement says. Multiple people spoke with police and claimed they heard a loud noise come from a bedroom and then saw the woman bleeding, the statement says,
Police saw blood near the window of the bedroom, as well as on the bedding and in the living room, the statement says.
