A man was arrested after he was accused of pulling out a gun Sunday at the IHOP on Conley Road in Columbia.

Sothea Prach, 34, of Columbia, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He posted a $75,000 bond on Monday. A hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8.

According to the probable cause statement, police were called around 3:20 a.m. Sunday for a report of a fight and someone pulling out a gun. Police were told Prach drove away in a charcoal Mercedes SUV, the statement says. He was found in the vehicle near the intersection of East Broadway and Trimble Road. Police conducted a traffic stop and Prach allegedly said he had a gun, the statement says.

Police found the gun in the vehicle. A victim allegedly told police that Prach and other people first began yelling at other customers before getting into an argument with IHOP staff, the statement says. The restaurant was described as “crowded” in court documents.

Court documents say Prach pulled out a gun and started waving it around, but didn’t point it at a specific person. A witness claimed they saw Prach holding the gun while leaving the restaurant.
