Hallsville man accused in Kirksville shooting where Columbia teen was injured

A Hallsville man has been charged with two felonies after he is accused of shooting man Monday in Kirksville.
Biagio Davenport was charged in Adair County on Tuesday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Tuesday.
The Kirksville Police Department wrote on its Facebook page on Tuesday that officers were called around 9 p.m. Monday to the 1100 block of North Franklin Street for a report of shots fired. An 18-year-old Kirksville man had gunshot wounds and was brought to Northeast Regional Medical Center by ambulance before being brought to another hospital, the post says.
The probable cause statement says the man told police that he was shot by someone in a black sedan.
A second person – a 15-year-old from Columbia – arrived to NRMC by a private vehicle with gunshot wounds, according to court documents and the social media post. The teenager was eventually brought to University Hospital in Columbia because of the extent of his injuries, court documents say.
Video from the emergency room in Kirksville allegedly showed a dark-colored sedan drop off the 15-year-old, the probable cause statement says, The child referred to Davenport by a nickname and was able to identify him by a photo shown by police, the statement says.
The youth claimed he was with Davenport in the vehicle when two people came up to the car and started shooting, the statement says. He then claimed that Davenport shot back.
A witness allegedly told police that he saw the car pull up to a man in the street, an argument occurred and was followed by gunshots, the statement says.
A 16-year-old alleged that he was with the 18-year-old victim at the time of the shooting, court documents say. That youth claimed the 18-year-old walked up to the sedan in the street and was shot by someone in the car, the statement says.
Police wrote on social media that it was looking for a 2019 Kia Optima, which was found in Macon County after receiving a tip from the public.
