Versailles woman accused of trying to use rat poison, antifreeze to kill spouse

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A woman from Versailles has been charged with four felonies after she allegedly tried to kill her spouse with rat poison and antifreeze.
Barbaray Clinkenbeard was charged on Monday in Morgan County with two counts of first-degree domestic assault and two counts of armed criminal action. A warrant was issued for her arrest and no bond was set. She was not listed on the Morgan County Jail’s online roster on Monday afternoon.
According to the probable cause statement, deputies were called to a residence on Saturday for a welfare check and the victim claimed that Clinkenbeard tried to kill them in December and January. The victim allegedly heard Clinkenbeard say on the phone that day that she put rat poison in lemonade in December and put antifreeze into the victim’s tea in January, the statement says.
Clinkenbeard was arrested and began singing a song about Jesus saving her, the statement says. She also allegedly admitted to poisoning the victim’s drinks.
Clinkenbeard, the victim and another person allegedly stated that the victim was very sick after the incidents, court documents say.
