COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A weekend shooting in St. Robert, Missouri, has led to a murder charge for a Dixon, Missouri, man.

Colin L. Mar, 21, is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in a Saturday evening shooting death.

The sheriff's office found a man who had been shot and two other people inside the house when they arrived, but Mar was not there, according to a probable cause statement. One witness told investigators that she had shot the victim -- who authorities have not identified publicly -- in self-defense, the statement says.

Investigators were skeptical of her story and the woman later admitted that Mar had shot the victim after an argument, the statement says. The victim was shot in the back, shoulder area and upper chest.

The statement says the evidence does not support a claim that Mar was defending himself from the victim. Six shell casings were found inside the home.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office wrote in a Monday evening social media post that Mar was arrested in a Richland, Missouri, hotel by the Richland Police Department.
