Versailles man faces 11 counts of possessing child pornography

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Versailles man was charged in Morgan County with 11 counts of possessing more than 20 images of child pornography.

A warrant was issued for Isaiah Mehmert on Wednesday and a $500,000 bond was set. A court date has not been scheduled.

The probable cause statement says law enforcement learned of Mehmert possibly exchanging images with a minor on Dec. 23 throughout 2024. An IP address of a device was traced to Mehmert and deputies allegedly found numerous files sent to and from a juvenile with a school email address, the statement says.

Dozens of videos and photos were described in court documents. Deputies reviewed the data from an account Mehmert had – from a website whose name was redacted – that included seven other juveniles ranging from ages 10-17, court documents say.

Deputies spoke with Mehmert on Tuesday, who alleged he did not access the account since March 2024, but deputies learned he used it several times on his phone since, the statement says.
