Jefferson City man charged after allegedly pointing gun at woman holding baby
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was charged with 11 felonies after he allegedly pointed gun at a woman who was holding a baby on Wednesday.
Grant Lucas, 25, was charged with three counts of first-degree domestic assault, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, four counts of armed criminal action and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.
According to the probable cause statement, the victim called police and claimed that Lucas was holding a gun to her head. Police arrived and the victim was able to get out of the house and Lucas was detained shortly after, the statement says.
The victim claimed that Lucas pointed a gun at her while she was holding a baby, the statement says. The victim also told police that Lucas had pushed, hit, choked and pointed a gun at them several times in the days leading up to the Wednesday assault, court documents say. Lucas also allegedly threatened to kill the victim multiple times, the statement says. The victim had bruises and marks on their arm and throat, according to the statement.
Lucas allegedly admitted to hitting and choking the victim while she was holding a baby, the statement says. He denied pointing a gun at her and threatening to kill her, court documents say.
The victim later told police that “she no longer wanted to be a victim and did not want” to have Lucas be in jail after Lucas called her to get him out, the statement says.
