According to a press release from the safety department and court documents, police were called to a residence in Mexico at 9:47 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Alabama Street and found a 46-year-old man with two gunshots wounds.

The probable cause statement says a woman said a white Lincoln had been following her vehicle and that the Truss’s walked up to her vehicle with guns and demanded money. The woman sped away, the statement says.

Court documents claim that both men were at the woman’s residence when she arrived while they were talking to the victim, the statement says. Branden Truss allegedly fired two shots from the Lincoln and hit the man, the statement says

Deputies stopped the vehicle later and arrested Monterio Truss, while Branded Truss ran away from the scene, the statement says.
