Fayette man charged with domestic assault

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 33-year-old Fayette man was charged with a pair of felonies after he allegedly pinned a woman against a truck.

Andrew Finley was charged on Wednesday in Howard County with first-degree domestic assault and driving while revoked. He is being held at the Howard County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

An arraignment was held on Tuesday and Finley asked for a bond reduction, which was denied by the court. A bond hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, March 20.

According to the probable cause statement, multiple people told law enforcement that they saw a man pin a woman against a truck Tuesday morning near the intersection of Highways 240 and 124. Multiple witnesses claimed that they also saw a man nearly hit the woman with the truck.

The victim claimed that they had been in an argument with Finley as the victim was leaving for work, the statement says. Finley allegedly “jumped into” the truck while the victim was in it and the victim left the vehicle, the statement says. Finley then allegedly grabbed the victim.

Law enforcement interviewed Finley, who was on a four-wheeler when he was found, the statement says. Finley allegedly claimed that the two had “simply a dumb argument,” court documents say. The truck was at the residence with Finley, who had allegedly claimed that he never drove the truck away, but was not able to give an answer as to why the vehicle was at the residence, the statement says.

The deputy told Finley he was under arrest and Finley first tried to walk away, the statement says. Finley complied after the deputy threatened to use a K-9, court documents say.
