Columbia man charged with child molestation
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of child molestation.
Prosecutors charged Timothy Maggard, 31, with first-degree child molestation on Tuesday.
According to court documents, Maggard had sexual contact with a child in December 2024. The Columbia Police Department said the assault was reported to officers on Feb. 17.
Investigators said someone confronted Maggard about the alleged assault over Facebook Messenger. Maggard claimed he did not remember what happened and implied that he blacked out. In one Facebook message, Maggard wrote in part, “I apologized a lot and have stopped drinking bc I was disgusted with myself.”
According to a probable cause statement, Maggard is currently on probation for felony domestic assault.
Online court records show Maggard was booked into the Boone County Jail without bond.
