Ashland man sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for child sex crime

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Ashland man was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Jefferson City for a charge he pleaded guilty to last year.

Scott Alan Barker, 33, pleaded guilty on Aug. 9 to producing child pornography and was sentenced on Wednesday to 15 years in prison.

According to previous reporting and a Wednesday press release, Barker allegedly created a video that included himself with a baby. He allegedly sent the video to a man he believed was a teenaged girl.

After authorities served a search warrant last year, Barker allegedly admitted that he was in the video. The inside of the home also matched the surroundings in the video, a Wednesday press release from the Department of Justice says.
