COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Three people were arrested at a home about 60 feet away from North Callaway Middle School on Thursday.
two of the people were charged with felonies. Lamont Dyer, 36, of Mexico, Missouri, was charged with attempted distribution of controlled substance in a protective location, drug possession, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, tampering with evidence and misdemeanor illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. Callaway County Jail records indicate he is being held without bond.
Anna Johnson, 52, of Auxvasse, was charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, drug possession and two counts of misdemeanor illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. Callaway County Jail records indicate she is being held on a $20,000 bond. Court dates for the pair have not been announced.
The probable cause statement says the residence is about 60 feet from the front entrance of the middle school, and an address for Johnson states she lives on Judy Lane.
The statement claims that Johnson and Dyer were “distributors of methamphetamine.” Deputies wrote that they found 2 grams of meth, pills and items that had meth residue. Two children were in the home at the time of the search, the statement says.
A Friday night social media post from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office says a third person was also arrested. Aaron Matthess, 49 of Fulton, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence, the post says. He was issued a summons, the post says. He was not listed on the Callaway County Jail roster at last check and charges had not been filed in online court records as of Monday afternoon.
This is the second time this school year that a drug bust has occurred at a home near North Callaway Middle School. In November, deputies executed a search in the 400 block of Chestnut Street, which is across the street from the school. The sheriff’s office wrote that deputies found 16 grams of meth and a stolen gun.
