Two men were arrested in Osage Beach last week for drug possession after they stopped their vehicle and asked law enforcement officers with a drug-sniffing K-9 for directions.

Aarron Ragan, 27, of Sullivan, was charged with drug possession and misdemeanor driving while revoked. He is being held at the Camden County Sheriff’s Office on a $7,500 bond. A hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Allen M Richards, 27, of Beaufort, was charged with drug possession and is being held at the jail on a $15,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24.

A press release from the Osage Beach Police Department says that the department, Miller County Sheriff’s Office and Mid-Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force were preparing to start K-9 training on Jan. 31 when a vehicle – driven by Ragan – pulled up. The men in the vehicle asked for directions on how to get to Osage Beach, the release says.

Officers said they were already in Osage Beach. The officers noticed the men appeared to be impaired, the release says. Another officer brought out their K-9 partner to sniff around the vehicle and 2 grams of methamphetamine were found in a jar in the vehicle, the release says.
