Audrain County sex offender charged with statutory sodomy

A Vandalia man was arrested and charged with child sex crimes in Audrain County.
Dana Ray Hull, 40, was charged on Wednesday with statutory sodomy of a child younger than 14 years old, statutory sodomy of a child younger than 12 years old, child enticement and failing to register as a sex offender.
He is being held at the Audrain County Jail without bond. A confined docket hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. Thursday at the Audrain County Courthouse.
According to the probable cause statement, the child victim reported to school officials that Hull had assaulted them and provided a cellphone that included messages from Hull that confirmed the assaults occurred. Hull messaged the victim through text message and the social media application SnapChat.
The child victim allegedly told police that the assaults had repeatedly occurred over a period of at least five years.
Hull is a registered sex offender and pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree statutory rape in 2011. The statement says he did not register his SnapChat account on the sex offender registration form.
