Jefferson City woman charged with three felonies after allegedly stabbing man

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A woman was charged with three felonies after she allegedly stabbed a man at a Jefferson City residence on Friday.
Tabatha Pinkston, 36, of Jefferson City, was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action. She is being held at the Cole County Jail at the time of publication. An order for release was filed on Monday after a hearing.
Pinkston waived a formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty by video from the jail on Monday. She will be released on her own recognizance, court records indicate. A hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27.
According to the probable cause statement, Pinkston allegedly showed up to a residence to pick up her children and got into an argument with a person described as a witness. The two started fighting and the victim was stabbed by Pinkston while he tried to break up the fight, the statement says. Pinkston allegedly got into her car with another witness and drove off, the statement says.
Police saw blood on the floor in several rooms of the home, the statement says. The victim was brought to Capital Region Medical Center.
Pinkston allegedly told police that the first witness tried shoving her and that the victim also pushed Pinkston, the statement says. She grabbed a knife off of her key ring and hit the victim multiple times, court documents say.
The second witness allegedly told police that Pinkston and the first witness began shoving each other and the victim stepped in to break them apart, the statement says.
