Jefferson City man charged with attempting to sexually abuse a minor

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was charged with a pair of felonies after he allegedly inappropriately touched a minor while they were sleeping.

Myron Demon Cage, 40, was charged with first-degree attempted sexual abuse and tampering with a witness. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.

The probable cause statement says that the victim spoke with police on Jan. 18 about an assault on Dec. 22. The minor victim claimed they were asleep on a couch and woke up to Cage grabbing them. Cage allegedly asked for intercourse and told them not to tell anyone, the statement says.

Cage only stopped when another person was entering the residence, according to court documents.
