COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was charged with two felonies on Monday after he was accused of attacking another man with a baseball bat on Jan. 7 in Central Columbia.

Reco Lomax, 42, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. A court date has not been set. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim claimed he was walking near the intersection of Wilkes Boulevard and Washington Avenue when a white Dodge Charger drove up behind him. Lomax allegedly got out of the vehicle and hit the man four or five times with a metal baseball bat, the statement says.

The victim was able to identify Lomax to police, court documents say.
