A box truck driver was charged with two felonies on Tuesday.

Colton McGaughey, 32, of Vienna, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused physical injury and leaving the scene of an accident where more than $1,000 in property damage occurred.

A warrant was issued on Tuesday and no bond was a set. A court date has not been scheduled.

According to the probable cause statement, a crash with four vehicles occurred around 3 p.m. Friday in the eastbound lane of Highway 50/63 near Clark Avenue. A Hilke Ice box truck allegedly switched lanes and hit a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, the statement says. The Chevrolet then apparently hit a 2022 Toyota Highlander and the Toyota hit another 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, the statement says.

One person had a broken neck and two others had head, neck and back injuries, all of which were brought to an area hospital, court documents say. Another person had a neck injury, but declined medical assistance the statement says.

The driver of the truck left the scene without telling the other drivers or a police officer, the statement says. Police contacted Hilke Ic, who was able to identify the driver as McGaughey, the statement says. Management allegedly told police that McGaughey did not report an information about the crash, but management sent police photographs of the damaged truck, the statement says.
